The FLY HIGHER project, funded by the European Commission, aims to be an important step towards the attraction, motivation and encouragement of young Europeans to embrace future careers in the field of Aeronautics by raising awareness of young people about future career paths in aeronautics and by fostering a close, open, informal dialogue and sustained interactions and networking activities between the aeronautics research community, industry and the scholar community.

For each one of the identified target groups, the Fly Higher project has defined and will implement a set of differentiated activities, adapted to their characteristics, needs and role in influencing/orientating the future professionals of the Aeronautic Sector!

The FLY HIGHER partners welcome you on board of the “Fly Higher Mission – Pathway to Success”. During this mission, you will discover many exciting things about Aeronautics and you will experiment many fun and daring activities!


The Fly Higher consortium is composed of:

 INOVAMAIS_LOGO_NEW_color INOVA+, a private consultancy company with a vast experience in project creation and management at the European level. INOVA+ provides customers with the knowledge, management skills, partnerships, as well as the technical and financial support required to implement their Innovation projects.
 upm Technical University of Madrid (UPM) is one of the main universities in Spain and its activity in the field of the aeronautical science and engineering has been developed through the School of Technical Aeronautical Engineering (funded in 1939) and the University college of Technical Aeronautical Engineering (funded in 1962). The UPM develops a broad and intensive research activity through more than 200 research groups. In the Airports, Air Navigation and Air Traffic Control domains it is remarkable the activity developed the research Group named GINA, “Grupo de Investigación de Navegación Aérea”. Active since the year 1992, the group consists of professor and Researchers from the School of Technical Aeronautical Engineering and the University College of Technical Aeronautical Engineering.
  Coventry University is a forward-looking and modern university with a proud tradition of providing high quality learning and applied research, and an established presence regionally, nationally and internationally with over 13,000 students and 1,800 staff. The Department of Aerospace, Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AEE) department is one of 6 within the Faculty of Engineering and Computing. Group facilities include a bespoke aerospace laboratory which includes equipment such as a Harrier Jump Jet, Westland Scout helicopter, UAV systems and a flight simulation suite (complete with air traffic control station) that is unique worldwide. The group host the National Merlin Flight Simulation competition, open to a variety of academic institutions from schools to universities.

University Paul Sabatier (UPS) is a university of science with 7 departments, ranked 129 of best universities worldwide in the international CWTS ranking in 2009.The IRIT (Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse) was founded in 1990 with the objective of federating, under a unique research laboratory, all the researchers and lecturers engaged in computing sciences in Toulouse area. ICS-IRIT is one of the prominent research group worldwide involved in the design and construction of dependable, usable and fault-tolerant interactive systems.


Boeing Research & Technology Europe S.L.U. (BRTE) is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company. Since its establishment in 2002, BRTE has become an active member in the European R&D landscape. BRTE is currently integrated in a global network of Boeing’s Centres of Excellence with presence in four different continents with the specific mission of working with partners across Europe in research and technological development. The work carried out at BRTE covers the following technical areas: Air Traffic Management, Aviation Safety, Unmanned Aerial Systems, Materials and Manufacturing and Security. In addition to these areas of expertise, BRTE has an active policy of creating positive changes in the community through what is termed Corporate Citizenship, contributing toward the development of the communities within which it operates. As part of this, BRTE engages in educational activities, supporting and inspiring schoolchildren in the science, technology, engineering and math fields. The company also engages in advocacy and mentoring activities to prepare the future workforce for tomorrow’s jobs and careers in aerospace.

ESHA is an umbrella organization of national associations for School Heads and Leadership teams in Primary, Secondary, Special and Vocational education. The 40 ESHA member organizations represent over 85,000 school leaders in almost all European countries.  ESHA’s aims are to act as an advocate for its members, research and report on issues of the day, engage with key stakeholders and promote best practice in developing innovative and high quality education and school leadership.  The activities of the ESHA network address both policy and practice. ESHA disseminates the experiences and views of its members to research organizations and policy makers.

German Association of Model Aircraft Fliers Flying model aircraft in Germany would scarcely be conceivable without the German Association of Model Aircraft Fliers. The largest umbrella organisation of its kind in Europe forms a comprehensive foundation for almost 80.000 members and offers the optimal basis for more than 1.300 member clubs currently spread throughout Germany. Flying model aircraft is much more than just a passion – it combines a hobby, sport, education and profession. Ultimately it also creates an ideal basis for many professions – especially in the aviation industry – because model aircraft fliers gain scientific and engineering knowledge in an entertaining manner.
